Inspired by the Forever Valentino exhibition, Zwara explores the natural conversations and crossover between fashion and other design disciplines.
Pearl – A journey of secrets is inspired by Valentino’s “Cabinet of curiosity” collection. In this collection, the designer used elements mostly from Rome. We brought elements from our Qatari culture mainly from the deep gulf sea, such as shells, pearls and corals. Coral is the main element that Valentino used in most of his designs. We also added his design techniques such as the puffy sleeves, open-cut embroidery and use of a dress with a cape. We used the gradient technique in drawing the motif waves from the top of the cape to the back. At the back of the cape, we merged Arabic calligraphy with the motif waves. The calligraphy is a poem

which means every secret in you is attractive. Going back to the front of the dress, the interactive and media artist used the sensory experience to Pearl to give a sense and appreciation of the workmen-ship of designing and crafting the piece.

Coupled with an audiovisual and sensory experience, Pearl takes you through the journey of the creators’ inspirations while you touch, feel and appreciate the workmanship of crafting the piece.
